Learn the basic principles of Contemporary African dance in this fun and enjoyable dance class that will leave you energised and connected from within. This is a fluid journey exploring dance art that is rooted in the teachings and practices of dance from the African Diaspora and Contemporary dance, underpinned by Somatic practice. Learn how to undulate your spine, strengthen your back, limbs, and core to lengthen your body and extend your range of movement and flexibility. Focus is placed on exploring the dynamic interplay between rhythm and movement, breath, weight in relation to one’s own physical body. The class is accompanied by great music and structured to allow participants to develop a deepened awareness of self through an experiential journey of exploration.
Cancellation policy
1. If for any reason a class is cancelled or does not go ahead, a refund will be given. 2. Where a teacher is unable to attend their own class they will supply a cover teacher. Refunds will not be given on that basis. 3. Cancellations within 24 hours from class commencement will be charged in full and a refund will not be given. 4. Attendees not arriving for class will be charged at full price and a refund will not be given. 5. Attendees arriving more than 15 minutes late for class will be refused entry. 6. Class bookings are non-transferrable.
